Lupe's new chin

Lupe's new chin

Lupe went under the knife yesterday.

Tumor-lump-thing - gone.
Festering wound - gone.
super-huge-mole - gone!!

All night long he whined in pain. I slept on the couch to help him turn over, etc. - it was really sad to hear him in pain, I had to carry him everywhere - i thought "did we do the right thing? he's getting old - can he handle surgery?! how long will it take to recover?"

Then, like magic, he jumped out of his bed this morning and limped for the door. He can walk!!! No way!! I opened the door and he started walking down the stairs... whoa! I scrambled for my shoes and ran after him... when i caught up with him he was down in the road with Pam and Rio - going for a walk!! Now, keep in mind, this dog just had surgery. He walked to the Indian Trail, then i made him go home.

An hour later he snuck out and walked the beach a few times!

I think Jana put it best when she said "Lupe is INSANE. He really must be a Kleitsch!"

Indeed, that dog is a Kleitsch through and through. At least he didn't go commando down the side of the house like he did the last time he was laid up.

Glad he's making such a speedy recovery, especially for a geriatric dog.

  2. He did go Rambo! Just this afternoon! I put the Elizabethan dog collar on him and boarded up his door with a kiddie gate - i found the collar in the living room and the gate was ripped open! He did it agian... escape artist.

  3. This is very familiar: Sammy couldn't even sit down after her last surgery. She stood crying next to the bed all night. It was awful. But by midday the next day, she somehow jumped up into the most complicated chair, fell asleep for hours, and then got up and was ready for a walk and dinnertime. WTF?!
